Azadi @ 75: GOOD GOVERNANCE -Reducing Compliance Burden in Urban Local Bodies

In its 75th year of independence, India has embarked on a journey to extol the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements through Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ means elixir of the energy of freedom, a nectar of inspiration from the past which will serve to further inspire the coming generations of this country.

The seminar will focus on building a resurgent and Aatmanirbhar Bharat by bringing innovation, technology, enterprise & efficient governance at the core of policy formation with a focus on the following proponents: Ideas @ 75, Achievements @ 75, Actions @ 75, Resolve @ 75 Gujarat has been at the fulcrum of India’s growth story, and the seminar on how Gujarat can play a pivotal role in achieving Hon’ble PM’s vision of an economically and technologically progressive country in years to come.

India has taken path-breaking measures in the fields of governance, reforms, and policies. The government is focusing on bringing innovation, technology, and efficient implementation of policies towards reducing the compliance burden for business and citizen-centric services thereby providing ‘ease of doing business’ and 'ease of living'. In the pursuit of reducing the compliance burden on businesses and citizens, a total of over 2600 compliances have been reduced by Gujarat. Gujarat is among the top three states for minimizing compliance burden.

The session will focus on the way forward for implementing the reforms pertaining at the level of ULB’s in Gujarat towards creating Ease of Doing Business and Ease of Living.
